Ever been inspired to create art while visiting the AGO? Us too! Our roving Art Cart family activity centres are chock-full of art-making fun for everyone, especially if you’ve got a mini-Matisse or pint-sized Picasso in your life.
Right now, our Art Carts offer activities inspired by two extraordinary exhibitions – Tunirrusiangit: Kenojuak Ashevak and Tim Pitsiulak, on view until August 12 (Don’t miss it!) and Nyle Miigizi Johnston’s Connecting With Our First Family, on view until September 30. Both exhibitions are brimming with life-like and fantastic images of animals, sure to inspire budding artists.
Here are some examples of activities and art-making fun you’ll find in our new animal Art Carts:
- Animal-themed colouring cards
- Woodland puppets and stuffed animals
- Animal costumes
- Animal-themed memory card games and bingo
- Watercolour pencils and drawing cards
- Pencil crayons and graphite pencils for sketching and drawing for all ages
- Inspirational art books for all ages
Create your own works of art with our Art Carts between noon and 3 pm on weekends or holiday Mondays, from now until October, and for a limited time on Fridays in August. Share your mini-masterpieces with the hashtag #AGOMakes.
Don’t forget to check out the shadow puppet fun in the Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre, where children can create and decorate animal silhouette puppets, and then bring them to life thanks to a shadow puppet theatre.
