Looking for an elegant and exciting date night idea? Grab that special someone in your life and embark on a romantic journey you won’t soon forget. With delicious food and drinks at AGO Bistro, and a Gallery full of captivating artwork to whisper sweet nothings about, you can’t go wrong!

Come sit on the same side of a booth at AGO Bistro, and take advantage of our Drinks and Apps happy hour special, every Tuesday to Saturday from 4 pm to 7 pm. Sip a full-bodied glass of wine and feed each other from a tasty Canadian cheese plate or charcuterie board. And after that, the art awaits you.

Choose a section of the Gallery to discover together. The AGO Collection is full of romantically inspired works that are sure to keep you and your date strolling arm in arm, sparking intimate conversations. In Level 1 in Frank P. Wood Gallery (Gallery 123), you’ll find François Boucher’s Les Sabots (pictured above), an oil painting from the late 18th century, depicting two lovers in a scene based on a comic opera, feeding each other cherries.

Or find your way to Level 2 to view the African Art collection: there’s a hand-carved wooden sculpture, Seated Couple, that gives you a window into what date night may have looked like for the Dogon people of Mali in the 18th century.

And don’t forget, we’re open late Wednesdays and Fridays! Stroll through the AGO until 9 pm, then head out into the city and see where the rest of the night takes you.

Admission to the AGO Collection and all special exhibitions is always free for AGO members, AGO annual pass holders, and visitors 25 and under. For more information, visit the website.
