Spring is just around the corner and we can’t wait for what’s in store! In addition to sunshine and warmer weather, spring also means a whole new series of courses at the AGO to get your creativity blooming.
Here are some of our exciting new courses, guaranteed to get you reenergized:
Are you in search of something that sparks joy? Explore and create images of happiness with this adult workshop. Study the works of Ashevak, Milne, Reid and Jungen, and the words of Aristotle, Epicurus and more to explore happiness in art. This five-week course runs Fridays from 6 to 9 pm beginning May 17.
Posters, artist’s books, zines and more! This printing press and printmaking course, for youth ages 14 to 18, offers a glimpse into the publishing world. Learn bookbinding basics, get a behind-the-scenes look at the AGO library collection and publish your own small editions. This five-week course runs Sundays from 1 to 3 pm beginning May 12.
Have an itty-bitty illustrator in the family? Help them bring their work to life! From flipbooks to apps, they’ll explore animation techniques of past and present as they create their own stories. This nine-week course runs Saturdays from 10 am to noon (for ages 8 – 10) and from 1 to 3 pm (for ages 11 – 13) beginning March 30.
Let the little ones loose to discover the animals hiding throughout the artwork in the AGO. Then head back to the studio to experience printmaking with an animal-themed twist! This four-week course is for 6 and 7 year-olds and runs Saturdays from 1 to 3 pm beginning March 30.
Stop and smell the roses. Kids ages 11 – 13 are invited to search through the AGO Collection to find blossoming flowers and plants. After their exploration, they’ll head back to the studio to create a series of nature-inspired artworks. This five-week course runs Saturdays from 1 to 3 pm beginning May 4.
