Looking for something creative to do with family and friends over the holidays? Need the perfect gift for your loved one? Or maybe you need a moment away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season? Either way, we’ve got you covered. Open throughout the holidays (except Christmas Day), the AGO has exciting exhibitions, delicious food and artful gift giving ideas to make this a holiday to remember.

Here’s some of the art-filled fun you can experience at the AGO this season:

Amazing art
Check out the bold portraits of Black women in Mickalene Thomas: Femmes Noires and the found objects turned art in Kara Hamilton: Water in Two Colours. While you’re here, take in the stunning images, augmented reality and film extensions in Anthropocene that reveal the scale of human impact on Earth. Catch a screening of Anthropocene: The Human Epoch, named one of the Best Canadian Films of 2018, showing in Jackman Hall until December 30.

Creative fun with the kids
Looking for things to do with your little ones? We’ve got the perfect excursion – a trip to the Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre – our creative drop-in play space for the whole family. Bring your kids by for artmaking, storytelling, costume dress-up and more. Don’t forget to visit on Family Sundays – each week from 1–4 pm – for all kinds of artful fun including activities at our Art Cart family activity centres in Walker Court.
