Extra! Extra! Did you hear the news? We’ve revealed the name of the Infinity Mirror Room by internationally acclaimed artist Yayoi Kusama that your donation can help bring to the AGO…forever. It’s an Infinity Mirror Room that hasn’t been exhibited at the AGO before. In fact, it’s never been exhibited in Canada before.

With less than a week left in our #InfinityAGO crowdfunding campaign, we need your help to bring a truly spectacular artwork to the AGO! This Giving Tuesday, from 8 am today until 8 am tomorrow, donations will be matched – dollar for dollar, up to $25,000 – thanks to a gift the AGO has secured.

As a registered charity, the AGO relies on generous donors like you to acquire new works of art. Donate today and double the impact of your donation!

So which artwork will come to the AGO with your help? Drumroll please…INFINITY MIRRORED ROOM – LET’S SURVIVE FOREVER. This extraordinary artwork by Kusama features mirrored orbs suspended from the ceiling and arranged on the ground. The room is bigger than many other Infinity Mirror Rooms – it can fit four people inside it at a time. Artnet says the installation, “ups the ante by placing an Infinity Room within an Infinity Room…[installing] a mirrored rectangular column inside a mirror installation. If you peer through the holes of the column, you can see a seemingly endless array of steel orbs extending in every direction.”

When we revealed the name of the Infinity Mirror Room, social media was buzzing with excitement:

Last spring, the AGO welcomed over 169,000 people to the exhibition Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors. But not everyone was able to experience Kusama’s immersive artwork. It’s why we want to bring an Infinity Mirror Room to the AGO…forever – so that art fans today and in the future can experience Kusama’s artwork.

All donation amounts are welcome. Donors of $25 and up can get – or give – guaranteed early access to the Infinity Mirror Room in spring 2019 before it opens to the public. We’ve noticed many people are opting to give the gift of Kusama. Don’t miss out on this fantastic gift!
