Kids rule the roost for Family Day

February 13th, 2017

We’re celebrating Family Day by transforming into the Kids’ Gallery of Ontario (KGO) for the day. On Monday, February 20 from 10:30 am – 4 pm, the Gallery will be bursting with family-friendly art activities.

On February 20, Family Passes will be discounted by 20%, lowering the price to $39. A Family Pass admits two adults and up to five youths (ages 6 to 17). As always, admission for children age 5 and under is free.

Check out some of the highlights:

Inspired by the current exhibition Francis Alÿs: A Story of Negotiation on Level 5 of the AGO’s Contemporary Tower, kids can build and decorate their own kites that fly, and set sail around the Gallery with paper boats.

Meanwhile, over in Walker Court, you can learn new jump rope tricks from the SOAR Rope Skipping children’s team, or just watch as they take coordination to a whole new level.

By kids, for kids (but adults will dig it too): you can catch both a screening and a Q & A by kid screenwriters Maddie and Adelaide, when we show their short film Small Cave Big Cave.

Families can also burst some bubble wrap, build a fort and “tape up” a room, take a family tour, relax with family yoga or colouring…it’s everything you need for a creative and playful outing.
