Our Library is getting a refresh – come relax, read & recharge.
One of the AGO’s hidden gems, the E.P. Taylor Library & Archives, is getting a refresh! If you haven’t discovered it yet, you’ll have even more reason to explore the treasure trove of archival materials, artists’ books and much, much more when it re-opens later this spring.
The AGO’s library and archives are being revitalized to become a hub for research, creativity and community at the AGO. Easily accessible both by a new entrance from Grange Park (which will open in early summer) and via the Weston Family Learning Centre, the new and improved library will spill out into a cozy, welcome area.
Whether you’re looking for somewhere to chill out and read the newest art zine, have a chat and relax with friends and family, or recharge your phone or your mind, the new welcome area (located just in front of the Library) is where you’ll want to be. It will feature art, programming and—for those who love to stay connected—Wi-Fi. Whenever the Gallery is open, this inviting space will be yours to discover. Be sure to check out the new display cases which will showcase our rare book collection!
Need a quiet zone to focus on your research? Inside the library itself, you’ll have access to the tools and space you need to study and work. And, as always, our renowned collection of art books, journals, catalogues and more awaits you.
Can’t wait for the library to re-open later this spring? Appointments can still be scheduled with our friendly staff. Prep for your visit by learning more about the AGO’s Library & Archives, visiting our online catalogue and checking out the Archives and Special Collections. Stay tuned for more updates about the re-opening, including the Library & Archives new opening hours.
