Once the last gift is unwrapped, what’s a kid to do? Get your young ones down to the AGO this winter to experience our creative classes and workshops.
Courses and workshops are designed for kids to learn through creative play, igniting their imaginations and connecting to art in a whole new way.
What better indoor activity is there than making and creating? Check out some of the exciting courses we’ve designed for the snowy season:
January 15–March 5, 2017 (8 weeks)
Sundays, 10 am–Noon
Members $268/ General Public $308 (8 weeks)
Star and planets, spaceships and aliens, constellations and cosmic pets: it’s intergalactic fun! Using the AGO’s Mystical Landscapes exhibition as inspiration, take off into another world of artmaking with drawing, painting, printmaking and 3-D fun.
January 14–February 4, 2017 (4 weeks)
Saturdays, 1–3 pm
Members $165 / General Public $185 (4-weeks)
Using clay and model magic as well as imagination and creativity, you and your crew will create 3-D characters, design sets and props to create a mini-motion picture!
February 11–March 4, 2017 (4 weeks)
Saturdays, 1–3 pm
Members $165 / General Public $185 (4 weeks)
Explore the magical art of stop motion, which creates the illusion of inanimate objects moving on their own. Learn about character development, lighting, storyboarding and storytelling and how to put it all together into a fun (or funny) short group film. This class works well in combination with the Claymation class.
January 21 and January 28, 2017 (2 weeks)
Grown-ups and kids ages 3+ welcome
Members $50/ General Public $55 (1 grown-up/1 child – each extra child $10)
Brrr! It’s cold outside – so come and play with us inside. With seasonally inspired snowy arts and crafts fun!
