It's now 2009 ... Also, as a participant in this initially enticing extravaganza I was sorely disappointed not to be invited to any kind of 'launch' or 'open house' when the show went up ... I never got a 'follow up' note, zip, nada. So, ya, great, 10,000 portraits and counting ... but it would be NICE to get a sense of a)what happened to my work, and b)a list of other participants, just for fun ... Otherwise, GREAT IDEA, lousy FOLLOW-THRU. Plus, now that the show has also shown at the Portrait Gallery of Canada, and will likely have some kind of LIFE of it's own INTO THE FUTURE, don't you think it would be THE RIGHT THING TO DO to let participants KNOW what's happening to their submissions? I understand the submissions did become the 'property' of the AGO, but seriously, not very good from a P.R. standpoint in the 'arts community' ... …. time to update this post no?
