.... time to update this post no? It's now 2009 ... Also, as a participant in this initially enticing extravaganza I was sorely disappointed not to be invited to any kind of 'launch' or 'open house' when the show went up ... I never got a 'follow up' note, zip, nada. So, ya, great, 10,000 portraits and counting ... but it would be NICE to get a sense of a)what happened to my work, and b)a list of other participants, just for fun ... Otherwise, GREAT IDEA, lousy FOLLOW-THRU. Plus, now that the show has also shown at the Portrait Gallery of Canada, and will likely have some kind of LIFE of it's own INTO THE FUTURE, don't you think it would be THE RIGHT THING TO DO to let participants KNOW what's happening to their submissions? I understand the submissions did become the 'property' of the AGO, but seriously, not very good from a P.R. standpoint in the 'arts community' ...

I'm glad I ran into this blog. I thought I was seeing things! When I first saw the page that mentioned the "In Your Face" exhibit, I know I saw June 1st as the deadline. Now it says December 1.

Can I make a suggestion? Can you please add the year to that December 1st deadline? When I saw it today, I thought I had accidentally sent my portrait after deadline! If I had read that page again before I put it in the mail, it would have stopped me from sending my work.

The page in the AGO website gave the impression of a Dec 1, 2005 deadline. Here's what your site said:

Submit your original works of art until *December 1* to be a part of In Your Face

Please note that individuals can submit as many portraits as they wish to the In Your Face project. The portraits can be of anyone, faces only, bodies only...it's completely up to you!

I'm thrilled about this show!
I was wondering if you'll accept more than one piece from one artist....and I was also wondering if the portraits must be self portraits...and I was also wondering if the portraits should be faces or if they can be entire bodies.....
hooray for the AGO!
